    If you would like to learn more about our leagues offered, what is required to captain a team or just to find out more about what our club rules and regulations for league are, you will want to plan to attend our Monday, November 19th meeting. We will meet in the clubhouse at 1:00pm. All are welcome to attend. We hope to see you there.
     

  • Men's Beer Night
    Men's beer night scheduled for 11/21 has been cancelled due to the close proximity to Thanksgiving! 

    HOWEVER...
    We are planning to host our next Men's Beer Night on Wednesday, December 19th, at 6:00pm.
    This will be a special holiday evening of doubles play, organized by Juan Garcia, our Director of Tennis. He is planning on inviting a few guests to join us so be sure to bring your "A" game and prepare for some jolly good fun! Juan will be grilling after. Bring your craft beer of choice and one to share. An $8.00 fee per person will be collected. Balls will be provided.

     A sign up sheet will be posted at the club tomorrow. Please sign up by December 9th and feel free to invite a friend. The more the merrier!
     

  • For those of you who were able to make it out to our November evening mixer you know Bruce Le and Valerie are quite the talent!
    Their band, Honeysuckle Rose, will be playing in Oceanside on Sunday,November 25th. at Harney Sushi from 12:00pm (noon) to 3:00pm.
    Harney Sushi is located at 301 Mission Avenue, Oceanside, CA 92054. 
    They wanted to invite everyone out to join them after tennis on Sunday!  - Bruce (Lich) Le

Both play tennis on their high school varsity teams and are also excellent students! Thanks for your patience while they get up to speed and get to know you.

    The annual meeting will be held in the clubhouse beginning at 1:00pm and again in the evening at 6:00pm. All are welcome to attend. This meeting will be held by Randie Lettington, the So Cal USTA coordinator.
     

  • Paint & Wine 11/09/18 4:00-6:30pm:

    We will have our 2nd “Paint and Wine” evening on 11/9/18, from 4  - 6:30 PM. 
    No experience necessary! 

    Bring your own picture you would like to paint or choose from one of the ones below that can be provided for you. No instructor will be on hand. We all help each other and just enjoy the freedom that painting brings! Limited to the first 16 people who sign up. 

    Please bring with you $10 for supplies which includes the canvas you will take home, and brushes and easels that you will borrow. Paint will be provided. 

    Please also bring with you a bottle of wine or beverage of your choice to share with everyone.

Congratulations to our Director of Tennis, Juan Garcia, for being honored with the 2019 Pro of the Year award! SDTC is proud to share that we now have two current pros of the year, back to back, representing us! Tole Marinkovic, this year, 2018 and now Juan Garcia, 2019!

    It’s a different kind of mixer and will take place instead of our traditional Sunday mixer - a November night to remember!

    Black tie not essential but a love of fun and music is recommended. 
    BYO after-dinner beverage, and a delicious dessert to share.

  • San Dieguito Cup Update – October 19th – 21st: 
    Great news!   The tournament has been expanded and now includes 32 men and 32 women, with a total of 8 teams.  With 8 teams, there will be 2 flights of 4 teams, so that each team will play 3 first round matches on Saturday. 
     
    The player list is posted on the bulletin board outside of court 1.
     
    We are still looking for several additional men for the wait list.  We also need both men and women subs of all levels, as well as volunteers to help out on Saturday and Sunday.  There is no charge to sub.  So please sign up!
     
    Once captain selection has been finalized, the captains will hold a draft later this week to select their team members.  Following the draft, captains will be contacting their players to begin planning for the Friday night team dinner and to provide other tournament information.    
     
    We are looking forward to a great tournament!

    Gitta & Magnus will be hosting the Oktoberfest on, Sunday, October 14th. 
    Tennis will begin at 2:00pm and continue with appetizers and our Oktober -festivitiesat 4:30pm.

    We invite everybody to come and join us for this special celebration 
    Sausages and all the trimmings will be provided. 
    Please bring a dish to share and BYOB.

As you are all aware league season is revving up for the Fall and our courts can be quite busy in the mornings from 8:00-9:30am. Our courts, however, are readily open for play from 10:00am on. We would like to encourage you to consider rearranging some of your games to avoid the heavy primetime play and take advantage of the non primetime hours.  
 

  • Men's Singles

  • 10/19 - 10/21 ~ Our 2nd Annual San Dieguito Cup!
    The Ladies' sign up is now full but we could use a couple more men to round out our #'s! If you haven't signed up, please consider playing!
     
    This is a team tennis tournament which takes place over a weekend.  Last year’s inaugural event was won by Team France, captained by Maria Avila. 
     

  • Each team consists of 4 men and 4 women. 

  • Team captains (3 men and 3 women) choose a country to represent and select their players in a draft.

  • Each round consists of a men’s doubles match, a women’s doubles match and a mixed doubles match, playing 8 game pro sets.

  • The tournament begins with a potluck team dinner on Friday, October 19th.  In keeping with their country, each team decorates its table, brings representative food/drink and dresses accordingly.   

  • After round robin play, the top 4 ranked teams advance to the Semi-Finals on Sunday, with prizes given for 1st through 3rd places.

  • A picture of the winning team is displayed in the club house for the next year and the names of the winning team members will be displayed on the perpetual trophy.

  •  The $35 entry fee includes lunch on Saturday and Sunday, snacks, beer, water and balls. 
     
      Volunteers and subs also are needed.

  • Board of Director's Meeting 10/02/2018
    Our Board of Director's meeting will be held on Tuesday, 10/02/18, at 6:00pm in the clubhouse. Please note the date change. All are welcome to attend.
     

  • Heavy Court Usage 10/02/18
    Please be aware that on Tuesday, October 2nd, we will have two teams playing at HOME! This appears to be the only date in October where we will have this overlapping of league play. Please plan your tennis accordingly for this busy morning.
     

  • Oktoberfest 10/14/18
    Gitta & Magnus will be hosting the Oktoberfest on, Sunday, October 14th. 
    Tennis will begin at 2:00pm and continue with appetizers and our Oktober -festivitiesat 4:30pm.

    We invite everybody to come and join us for this special celebration 
    Sausages and all the trimmings will be provided. 
    Please bring a dish to share and BYOB.

2018 San Dieguito Cup October 19th-21st

2018 San Dieguito Cup Sign-ups begin Sept 22nd at 8:30 am.

Be sure and sign up to play in the Second Annual San Dieguito Cup to be held from October 19th -21st. A sign up sheet is posted at the club!

 This is a team tennis tournament which takes place over a weekend.  Last year’s inaugural event was won by Team France, captained by Maria Avila. 

 Each team consists of 4 men and 4 women. 

  • Team captains (3 men and 3 women) choose a country to represent and select their players in a draft.

  • Each round consists of a men’s doubles match, a women’s doubles match and a mixed doubles match, playing 8 game pro sets.

  • The tournament begins with a potluck team dinner on Friday, October 19th.  In keeping with their country, each team decorates its table, brings representative food/drink and dresses accordingly.   

  • After round robin play, the top 4 ranked teams advance to the Semi-Finals on Sunday, with prizes given for 1st through 3rd places.

  • A picture of the winning team is displayed in the club house for the next year and the names of the winning team members will be displayed on the perpetual trophy.

The $35 entry fee includes lunch on Saturday and Sunday, snacks, beer, water and balls. 

 Sign-ups are limited to the first 24 men and 24 women who sign up; however, additional teams could be added if there are enough interested players to fill out more teams.      

 Volunteers and subs also are needed.

The Board would like to welcome and congratulate our new Director of Tennis, Juan Garcia.  Juan joins our club with many outstanding accomplishments and achievements throughout his tennis career.  We look forward to Juan meeting all the members and taking on the leadership and responsibilities of our club while holding true to the values and traditions that make SDTC an amazing place to be.

We would also like to congratulate Tole for his acceptance of his new title as Head Tennis Professional.  Tole has been an excellent Professional at SDTC for many years and we value his expertise, commitment and the many friendships he has in our family.  Thank you for your dedication to our club! 

The Board would like to thank the Hiring Committee for their tireless efforts and countless hours devoted to the successful process of continuing the greatness of San Dieguito Tennis Club.
